INTEGRATIONS

Your organic and analytics data, next to your AI citations.

Connect Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4, and Rankwize puts your blue-link search performance and your AI-referred traffic on the same screen as your AI citation data — so you can see the whole picture in one place.

Read-only · automated daily sync · no writeback

AI citations and organic search are the same content decision.

The page an AI engine cites is usually a page that's also ranking — or trying to — in classic search. Judging it on AI visibility alone, with your organic and traffic data in a separate tab you have to flip to, means making content calls on half the evidence.

These integrations close that gap. Search Console brings the organic side, GA4 brings the traffic side, and both sit next to the citation data they explain — so a decision about a page is made with everything that page is doing, in one view.

Citations alone

"This page lost a citation in Perplexity." → You don't know if its organic traffic moved with it, or whether AI is even sending visitors.

Citations + GSC + GA4

"This page lost a Perplexity citation, its organic position slipped two spots, and AI referral sessions are down." → Now it's a prioritized fix, not a hunch.

Two Google integrations, read-only by design.

Both connect with a read-only OAuth scope and pull data on a daily schedule. Rankwize reads your data to show it next to your citations — it never writes anything back.

Google Search Console

Read-only · webmasters.readonly

Connect a verified Search Console property and Rankwize pulls your organic search performance alongside your AI citation data.

  • Top queries with clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position
  • Page-level performance for the URLs AI engines actually cite
  • Country and device breakdowns

Google Analytics 4

Read-only · analytics.readonly

Connect a GA4 property and Rankwize surfaces engagement and the AI-referred traffic landing on your site — the downstream signal that AI visibility is working.

  • AI referral traffic broken out by source (ChatGPT, Perplexity, and more)
  • Page engagement: sessions, engagement rate, bounce rate, average session duration
  • Traffic context next to the citation movement that drove it

Connect once, then it stays current on its own.

Authorize, pick the property that matches your site, and Rankwize handles the backfill and the daily refresh from there.

Step 1

Authorize with Google

Read-only OAuth — Search Console asks for webmasters.readonly, GA4 asks for analytics.readonly. Offline access lets the daily sync run without re-authorizing.

Step 2

Pick your property

Rankwize lists the verified GSC properties and GA4 properties on your Google account. Choose the one that matches the site you track.

Step 3

Backfill, then daily sync

On connect Rankwize backfills roughly the last 16 months, then keeps the data current with an automated daily sync. There is nothing to schedule.

Where the data shows up.

Connected data isn't parked in a separate analytics tab — it's woven into the screens where you already make decisions.

Home dashboard

An AI Referral Traffic card breaks out the sessions arriving from AI sources by name — ChatGPT, Perplexity, and the rest — so the traffic story sits next to the citation story.

Content — Organic Search

Select a page and see its GSC metrics (clicks, impressions, CTR, average position) and its GA4 engagement (sessions, bounce rate, session duration) on the same screen.

Per-prompt detail

Open a tracked prompt and the matched content shows its organic GSC position, clicks, and CTR — so you know whether the page AI cited is also earning blue-link traffic.

What's included on your plan.

Connecting your data costs nothing extra. The only difference between tiers is how deeply the organic data is broken out.

Search Console

Connects on every plan, including Free.

Google Analytics 4

Connects on Watch and every plan above it.

The complete Pages and Keywords views are part of the Diagnose add-on.

Frequently asked

Do I need both GSC and GA4 connected?

No — each is optional and they stand alone. Rankwize's core AI citation monitoring works with neither connected. Search Console adds the organic-search side (queries, clicks, impressions, position) next to your citations; GA4 adds the traffic side (AI referral sessions and on-page engagement). Connect one, both, or neither — every connection you add enriches the picture, none is required to use the platform.

How fresh is the data?

Both integrations sync automatically once a day — not in real time. Search Console reflects Google's own two-to-three-day reporting lag, so the most recent days fill in as Google finalizes them. When you first connect, Rankwize backfills roughly the last 16 months of history so you start with trend, not an empty chart.

Does Rankwize write anything back to GSC or GA4?

No. Both connections use read-only Google scopes (webmasters.readonly for Search Console, analytics.readonly for GA4). Rankwize only reads your data to display it alongside your AI citations — it never modifies your Search Console settings or your Analytics configuration, and it never sends data back to Google.

What permissions does the connection request?

Search Console requests read-only access to your Search Console data (and your account email to label the connection). GA4 requests read-only access to your Analytics data. Both request offline access so the daily sync can run without you re-authorizing each time. A workspace admin connects the integration, and an admin can disconnect at any time — disconnecting GA4 also removes the data Rankwize had synced.

Which plans include GSC and GA4?

Search Console connects on every plan, including Free. GA4 connects on Watch and every plan above it. The richer Search Console views — the full Pages and Keywords breakdowns inside the Content screen — are part of the Diagnose add-on. The connections themselves cost nothing extra; the gating is on how deeply the organic data is broken out, not on whether you can connect.

What if I don't use Search Console or GA4 — is there an alternative integration?

These are the two analytics integrations Rankwize offers today — there is no Adobe Analytics, Matomo, Mixpanel, or Bing Webmaster connector. If you don't connect either, you still get the full AI citation monitoring, diagnosis, and impact tracking; GSC and GA4 are enrichment that adds organic and traffic context, not a prerequisite for the product.

Organic and traffic data make Impact Tracker and AI Citation Monitoring read in full context.
